Kayaking Nature Tour on Lake Hodges

View our Calendar for the next available dates

Sponsored by the San Diego Natural History Museum

Join us for this nature tour on one of San Diego's oldest reservoirs. Located in the hills west of Escondido, we often see mule deer and coyotes come down to the water for a drink as we paddle by.

After a rain there are a couple of nice waterfalls and occasionally the dam is known to overflow.

We also see many resident birds on the lake such as Western Grebes, Great Egrets, American Coots, and Great Blue Herons. Bring your binoculars and see how many different species you can find.

We make it easy for you to join us on this paddle. We provide all the kayaks and equipment plus an introductory paddling lesson. No previous kayaking or swimming experience is required. We use stable, comfortable kayaks that are easy to paddle for a safe and fun adventure for all ages.

Bring the kids, family and friends along for an enjoyable day at the lake.

Cost is only $55 per adult museum member, $65 per adult non-member, $20 per child (6-12) paddling in double kayak with parent.
