Thanksgiving Kayak Camping Adventure

Our annual Thanksgiving trip on the Lower Colorado River (near Yuma, Arizona) is coming up soon and we still have 3 spots available.

We provide the transportation from San Diego to the river on Wednesday afternoon, November 25. We camp that night and the next morning load up our kayaks and head down river for our 4-day adventure.

I don’t like to sit any longer than 3 hours at a time in a kayak, so we break up each day with some paddling and some on-land exploring.

The first day we paddle for a couple of hours and then stop at a historic homestead. We hike a short distance to get a view of the river and nearby channels. Then we paddle for a couple more hours and stop for lunch on one of the sandbars.

Then we continue on to our campsite for the night where we have our huge Thanksgiving dinner. Family Kayak provides the turkey and everyone else brings a side dish for the meal.

We provide an equipment list and give you techniques for packing and organizing your gear. Beginners are welcome.
