Women on the Water
One of my favorite activities is sharing my love of kayaking with other women.
Kayaking enables women of all ages and abilities to experience the outdoors in a very intimate setting.
We offer a variety of trips througout San Diego, Southern California, Alaska, and Baja California.
We are happy to put together a custom trip for you and your group of 6 or more.
Here are some of the trips we offer.
3-hour Coronado Tour by Kayak on San Diego Bay
Here is an opportunity to view beautiful Coronado Island on San Diego Bay by kayak.
We'll meet at Tidelands Park for an introductory paddling lesson and safety talk. Then we'll launch our kayaks for a guided tour of the bay traveling under the scenic Coronado Bay Bridge.
We'll paddle to the Ferry Landing pointing out various landmarks of the downtown skyline along the way. We typically get up close and personal to many shorebirds such as Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Willets and Spotted Sandpipers.
We make it easy for you to join us on this paddle. We provide all the kayaks and equipment plus an introductory paddling lesson. No previous kayaking or swimming experience is required.
We use stable, 2-person, comfortable kayaks that are easy to paddle for a safe, enjoyable day on the bay. A truly unique way to enjoy America's Finest City.
Cost is $44 per adult, $18 per child (2-14 years of age) sharing a kayak with an adult. Includes kayak, life vest, paddle, introductory lesson, and instructor/guide. $22 discount with your own kayak.

3-hour Sea Lion Kayak Tour on San Diego Bay
Join us for this fun and exciting tour by kayak on San Diego Bay.
We'll meet at Shelter Island for an introductory paddling lesson. Then we'll launch our kayaks for a beautiful tour of the bay traveling toward Point Loma.
Along the way we'll visit the marine mammal training area where they work with dolphins and sea lions. Then we paddle to the local bait barge where the California Sea Lions hang out. We also see many species of birds such as Brown Pelicans, Snowy Egrets, Double Crested Cormorants and Great Blue Herons.
We make it easy for you to join us on this paddle. We provide all the kayaks and equipment plus an

For Women Only: Black Canyon Hot Springs and Hoover Dam

Join us for three days of paddling on the Colorado River where it flows through Black Canyon just below Hoover Dam. Viewing the huge dam from a tiny kayak is quite inspiring. This is a beautiful stretch of river with Hot Springs, Waterfalls and a Sauna Cave to enjoy. Big Horn Sheep, Bald Eagles and Ospreys also inhabit the area. This is a great paddle to learn to be self-sufficient in a kayak. Participants will be responsible for their own camping gear, food and water.
Kayak San Juan Islands: Orca and Eagle 8-Day Excursion

Experience the excitement of Orca whales while paddling the San Juan Islands. There is no route more inspiring than exploring the San Juan Islands. We paddle an average of 10 miles each day which gives us plenty of time to explore and relax.
This tour uses remote camps which will be our home each night. The camps offer a wilderness setting with the comforts of roomy dome tents and home cooking in the camp kitchen. All camping gear and meals are provided. All you bring is your sleeping bag, clothing and personal items. The San Juan Islands have a mild summer climate with daytime temperatures 60-70F and nighttime temperatures 50-60F.

You will experience two of our most popular trips for just one low price on this HUGE adventure. We have combined our whale encounter with our glacier tour. This trip is fully catered and all camping equipment is supplied. All you bring is your sleeping bag, clothing and adventurous spirit. Here is how our itinerary pans out.
Floatplanes will pick us up and fly west to Kupreanof Island, one of Southeast Alaska's premiere areas to view whales. The coastline offers miles of beaches and coves to explore by sea kayak. Humpback whales are only one of the many animals feeding in the rich waters offshore.
River otters search the beach looking for a dinner of crab and clams while bald eagles keep a watchful eye, searching for salmon returning to spawn in nearby creeks. For those interested in doing some land-based exploring, our neighbors include black bear, moose, deer, mink, and wolf. After each exciting day we'll spend our evening recalling the days events by a warm fire on the beach.

Have you ever actually touched a whale? Here is the opportunity to really do it. The whales are comfortable with the Mexican fishermen so they come right up to the boats for some gentle head rubs. They really do want to communicate with us.
Luncheon Tour by Kayak - Coronado Ferry Landing
Here is your opportunity to socialize and view beautiful San Diego Bay by kayak.
We'll meet at Glorietta Bay for an introductory paddling lesson. Then we'll launch our kayaks for a leisurely tour of San Diego Bay traveling under the scenic Coronado Bridge. We'll land on the beach at the Coronado Ferry Landing and walk to Peohe's for a scrumptious lunch. As we relax out on the patio we'll have a beautiful view of the downtown skyline. After lunch we'll paddle back to Glorietta Bay.
Morro Bay: 3-Day Memorial Day Weekend

Let's get out of town for the Memorial Day weekend and explore Morro Bay State Park.
We have reserved one campsite at the edge of the campground for the holiday weekend.
The park includes Morro Rock Ecological Reserve, the outstanding Morro Bay State Park Museum of Natural History, and the Heron Rookery Natural Preserve.
San Quintin Bay, Baja California

Join us in exploring this Pacific bay only five hours south of San Diego.
We will camp on the beach of the outer bay and take day paddles to explore the historic features and unique geography of this area. From pristine white sand beaches to volcanic tide pools, there is plenty of exploring to do here. We will be sharing the bay with many varieties of marine mammals, birds and fish. Sea lions and dolphins play in both the inner and outer bays.
Thanksgiving on the Colorado River

Join us for our annual Thanksgiving adventure on the water. We spend four glorious days paddling flat water on the lower Colorado River.
This is a great opportunity to learn to be self-sufficient in a kayak. For those novice kayakers, we teach you how to pack all the gear you need for our multi-day adventure. Each kayak holds approximately 2.5 backpacks worth of gear.
For experienced kayakers, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore the desert and mountainous area of the Colorado River where it flows between Arizona and California.
We start our 40-mile journey in the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge and continue through the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge. Along the way we camp in four different remote camps, hike slot canyons, and visit historic mines and homesites.
We have a scrumptious Thanksgiving feast on Thursday evening. Family Kayak Adventure Center will provide the holiday turkey and we each bring part of the holiday meal to share.
Costs are $359 per person. Package includes kayaks and paddling gear, camping/parking/shuttle fees and instructor/guide. Both single and double kayaks are available. Round trip ground transportation from San Diego is provided for the first 7 persons to sign up. $100 discount with your own kayak.
Participants are responsible for their own camping gear, food, and drinking water. A detailed itinerary and equipment list is provided.

Weekend on the Lower Colorado River
Join us on this great flat water paddle on the Colorado River just above the Imperial Dam. We provide the transportation from San Diego to the river, then we launch our boats and paddle up river to our boat-in campsite.
We will spend our days exploring the many reed-lined channels and off-river lakes in the area.
We will spend our evenings around the warmth of the campfire sharing stories and tall tales.
